West Virginia Compressor Station Slip Repair

The Evolution Contracting team recently completed a steep terrain slip repair and soil stabilization project in West Virginia. The project posed an immediate threat to the active compressor station, and needed to be repaired quickly to prevent future complications. The project also required excavation around a 24″ gas line, just below the slide area.

Specializing in Steep Terrain Slip Repair and Stabilization, our team was able to complete the project on schedule and before any additional complications. Our team immediately located the source of groundwater causing the issues, and installed a temporary pipe to mitigate groundwater, allowing the EC crew to dry the saturated material.

Services required:
  • Steep terrain slip repair
  • Steep terrain stabilization
  • Cutoff drain installation
  • Wick drain installation
  • Compaction & backfill
Project Notes:
  • Project consisted of an estimated excavation/backfill of 25,000 cubic yards
  • The jobsite required seven air bridge setups to access the slip area.
  • Installed over 1,200 ft of Wick Drain & 800 ft of French Drain
  • Located additional springs within slip area, installed lifts and then compacted to specifications.
  • Our team installed a pipe and rip-rap channel to redirect ground and surface water from the remediated area.
